better known as Piovano Arlotto, listing the “qualities” of some Italian cities wrote:
“In Milan they know how to do haberdashery and armoury, and in Florence good drapes,
in Bologna sausages, and in Siena marzipan and berricuccoli”

A sweet that tastes of the East, inspired by the slippers of the Arab Sultans.
The Ricciarello, worked since ‘400 in the shops of the apothecaries,
it is made with sweet almonds and covered with a light layer of sugar
so as to obtain an exquisite and excellent product to be consumed with sweet wines.
